Welcome

The 89th Entry Apprentice Association was formed some years ago to resurrect our links with the past. Over 90 of Lord Trenchard's 'brats' who graduated with the 89th Entry have been located and most are members of the Association.

Ken Coburn is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the Association. A Newsletter is published twice a year (in the spring and autumn) to keep members informed about what is happening to their colleagues. The Newsletter contains news of 89th Entry events, and other items of interest associated with the RAF apprentice scheme.

If you were a member of the 89th Entry, RAF Halton, and have not made contact with the 89th Entry Association, please contact the Secretary/Treasurer - select ‘Contact’ from the menu for details.

The Association members get together at annual Reunions, with their wives/partners, to enjoy each other’s company and to reminisce about our past experiences, both inside and outside the RAF. These are truly excellent events and it is fascinating to meet people who have been through similar experiences. Many an interesting tale is told over a convivial pint of ale in the bar and at the Reunion dinners. These events are held at various venues throughout the country. You do not have to be a member of the Association to attend these events and so, if you want to see what the Association is all about, come along and join us at a forthcoming Reunion (generally held in the first week of October). Select ‘Events’ from the menu for details of past and future events.

The Notice section contains late breaking news (since the last Newsletter) and is intended to keep members up to date on recent items of news. All items of news in this section are subsequently distributed to members of the Association (i.e. those without Internet access) in the next 89th Entry Association Newsletter.  ‘Old Notices’ can also be accessed from the ‘Notice’ section.

The ‘What’s New’ page is there to let regular visitors to the 89th Entry Web Site know what changes have been made recently. This will allow visitors to navigate quickly to pages that have changed since they last looked at the site.

Finally, the ‘Site Links’ page contains links to web sites that are related the Royal Air Force, RAF Apprentice and Boy Entrant schemes as well as other links of a more general aviation nature.
