2002 Reunion Weekend - Buxton |

2002 Reunion Weekend - 4, 6 and 7 October 2002 at Buxton |
|
The 2002 Reunion at Buxton was organised by John Wainwright, ably assisted by Alex Hatherall and their wives Sue and Liz. The weekend was enjoyed by 24 members and their wives/partners (48 in all). Peter and Linda Moseley joined us for the first time, as did Frank Hare's wife Shirley. The theme for the weekend was '60th birthday', as most of us have either passed this milestone or were about to do so. Tom and Sandra Muncaster kindly provided the birthday cake which included the Entry badge that was 'piped' in icing. The birthday cake was particularly appropriate for Alex Hatherall as it was actually his birthday on the night of the reunion dinner. |

Alex Hatherall also manufactured an 89th Entry shield which was displayed above the dance floor and will be used at future Reunions. Peter Moseley won the prize for the longest flight in the indoor gliding competition (you will have to wait until the Spring 2003 Newsletter to discover what that was about) although I understand that he cheated as Steve Perrott's wife Glen helped him to launch his glider. |

The evening began with John Wainright and Alex Hatherall cutting the members' 60th birthday cake whilst Alex's wife Liz looked on. |

Terry Luckhurst, John Turner, Peter Ayee competing in the indoor gliding competition (whilst John Baker looks on). The eventual winner was Peter Moseley who is seated next to his wife Linda in the right-foreground though some say he obtained help from Steve Perrott's wife, Glen. |

After dinner and the gliding competition the dancing started and went on late into the evening (about midnight as I recall). It was then time for the stalwarts to prop up the bar for another couple of hours before retiring to bed. A great time was had by all, judging by the quiet mood of the members at the AGM that was held the following morning |
